Steven R. Mills Joins DCA Partners. Investment Banking Firm Continues Local Expansion

Sacramento, CA., September 4, 2002 — DCA Partners, the Sacramento area’s premier provider of comprehensive business development, financing, and mergers & acquisitions advisory services, is pleased to announce that Steven R. Mills has joined the Firm as a Partner.

Mills brings more than 25 years of executive financial management experience—both as a CFO of rapidly growing businesses, and as a Partner and Manager with top accounting firms Ernst & Young and Deloitte & Touche. At DCA Partners, Mills will be responsible for working with the Firm’s clients to assist them with strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and company sales that are customized to achieve each client’s growth and profitability objectives.

Mills started his professional career in 1978 at Deloitte & Touche, where he spent six years prior to joining Ernst & Young in 1984. Mills was a Partner at Ernst & Young in the San Jose and Sacramento offices, where he specialized in consulting with technology and other companies regarding all facets of their financial and tax affairs. After Mills left Ernst & Young, he became the CFO at AnyTime Access and Responsys, Inc., both venture capital funded companies in the financial services and on–line marketing industries. Over the course of his career, Mills has been involved in numerous M&A and public offering transactions in the following industries:

  • Semiconductor Industry (e.g. Xilinx; Novellus; Linear Technology, Credence Systems)

  • Software Industry (e.g. Frame Technology acquired by Adobe; Inference Systems)

  • Medical Devices Industry (e.g. Chemtrak; KeraVision; Integrated Surgical Systems, Endosonics; DKD acquired by Medtronics)

  • Services Industry (e.g. AnyTime Access acquired by Digital Insight; Responsys; Access Health acquired by McKesson; Emcon Associates; Boomtown Casinos acquired by Hollywood Park; Sterling Pacific Assets)

  • Manufacturing Industry (e.g. Giro Sport Design acquired by Bell Helmets; Calgene acquired by Monsanto; Specialized Bicycle Components; Ames Manufacturing)

Mills holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor of Law, both from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Mills has been admitted to the bar in Nebraska and is a Certified Public Accountant in both California and Nebraska. He is also a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
